An American Christmas for the Troops A Success

Ralph,

Sorry for not replying earlier.  Thank you so much for the packages, they're fantastic!  We've been getting about 8-10 per day; we've received so many that I've lost count.  My soldiers seem to love them.

They know your "Batavia Cares" sticker well by now, and whenever someone hasn't received something from home I'm able to send him off with one of your packages.  Thanks again for the support, it really means a lot to us.

Sincerely,

1LT Amanda

I recieved your package yesterday and didn't want to put off thanking you and your group.

It's pretty isolated here and mail from home is always a big event but a gift from people I've never met is an unexpected treat.  The snacks and socks and magazines and stuff are very much appreciated but most important is the thought that someone back home would take the time and effort.

Please thank Emily especially for her personal note.

Merry Christmas and Thank you again,

Jim

Thank You Volunteers For a Successful Collection

Thanks to the Cadets Of Marmion we had a successful Shop and Drop. Now comes the job of sorting and packing.

Again we thank the Aurora Fire Department for their assistance. And all the folks that have dropped items off at Ace Hardware and Berkely's Finer Foods.

The Batavia Bandits and Shara Luzen were the volunteers that worked our Shop and Drop. Unfortunately we had to leave early due to lack of manpower. It seems that many are just too busy with their own lives to take care of our troops.

I also would like to thank the Aurora Fire Department and especially Fireman Mike Hess for their efforts in collecting items for the Marines in Afghanistan.

Members of the Batavia Bandits Baseball Team & Marmion Cadet Helped Pack

Patrick Garvin, Kristen Garvin, John Fitch, Michael Ronzone, Matt Ronzone pitched in the send packages.

Batavia Cares is in need of help. We need administrative help who can send out thank you letters to our many great donors. Packers and sorters are always needed. Stephanie Fania is doing the troop window down town and could use some help. We need help to let the troops know we care.
